2/10/12 Sports Physical Therapy Section Awards Dinner, Location Portraits

Friday evening, 12/10/12, during a winter advisory potential snow out, FAB left extra early to ensure a proper set up at the Palmer House's Red Lacquer Room. The occasion: awards night for the Sports Therapy Section (a division of the American Physical Therapy Asscotion). Members came from all around the Nation to gather in Chicago for their annual conference.

Once onsite, our client Mary Wilkinson loved the quaint little nook in the back corner of the Red Lacquer Room, so we abandoned our old gray sweep and lit the location for magazine style portraits. She preferred the color and flair, and thought she could always just cut the subjects out of the background and put them on gray if she needed.

FAB did double duty, switching between well lit corporate podium shots of the notable speakers as well as shooting professional lit, flattering portraits of the awards winners, members of the board, and their associates.

12/9/12 WBEZ Sound Opinion's "Eat to the Beat: Stones vs. Beatles sneak-peak at Nellcote Restaurant"

Going to famous chef's restaurant openings is so mainstream. On Thursday February 9th at the WBEZ's "Eat to the Beat: Beatles vs. Stones pre-opening dinner at the Nellcote Restaurant" Fab Photo was on the scene weeks before the restaurant opens to the public.

Sound Opinions hosts Greg Kot and Jim DeRogatis invited celebrity chefs Stephanie Izzard (Girl and the Goat) and Jared Van Camp to create dishes inspired by tracks by the Beatles and Stones.

Partners Chris Dexter and Chris Freeman Have faithfully recreated the look and feel of the Nellcote, the french mansion where the Rolling Stones recorded "Exile on Main Street."

In case you're wondering who won (Beatles vs Stones), it was tie.

12/17/12 Maxim IC Analog Holiday Party at the Hancock Signature Room, 95th Floor

Fab photo was there on Saturday night December 17th 2011 downtown Chicago. Maxim Integrated Products had a party on top of the world. Maybe it wasn’t the top of the world but it was on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Tower in the palacial Signature Room.
In a room with a view of the holiday bustle of Chicago’s downtown, the frenzy of Lake Shore Drive and the serene waters of Lake Michigan, Maxim’s sales staff, spouses, and children partied with gifts, drinks, food, entertainment and Fab Photo.
Families, couples, partners and friends took their turn on the photo background. Full sized images were available later for downloads. Fab never misses a chance to get a great couples shot. It is the first one in over a decade for some couples. Fab thinks pictures make memories.

12/15/12 Terlato Wines Holiday Party Witnesses First Use of FAB Photobooth

Terlato Wines International, Leaders in Luxury

Fab photo was there on Thursday night December 15th 2011. Terlato Wines celebrated a healthy and prosperous 2011 at the Miramar Bistro, located in beautiful Highwood, IL where there is absolutely no graffiti or litter.

The celebratory mood was enhanced by an open bar followed by exceptional Italian meal and an enticing dessert table. The most exiting part of the evening for Fab was the maiden voyage of the Fab Photobooth, an updated version of the traditional do it your self portrait.

After making creative self portraits as singles and couples, employees and management squeezed together to take spontaneous group photos not possible in a tiny two person traditional photobooth. Reindeer horns, Santa and Elf hats added seasonal flare. Fab suggests you never miss a chance to photographed in a feather boa. We are party experts and know about such things

12/10/11 Marquette Partners Holiday Party at EPIC Restaurant

Saturday night, December 12, 2011, FAB PHOTO helped Marquette Partners celebrate their holiday partner at downtown Chicago's EPIC restaurant with a stylish step and repeat and 4x6 onsite instant print photo souvenirs, as well as some party overviews and candid photos.

We have to hand it to the restaurant and the firm's party planners: EPIC was decorated with style and flawless attention to detail, from the candlelit tables to the matching red leather couches to the amazing food. For the step and repeat photography, the planners added the touch of some elegantly simple paper props to spice up the photos.

12/9/11 Santa Visits Baker McKenzie Holiday Party

Friday afternoon, December, 9, 2011, FAB PHOTO used its green screen magic to bring Santa to a private living room for law firm Baker McKenzie's annual holiday party. The party was held on one of the upper floors at their new downtown location at 300 East Randolph with a fantastic view overlooking Millennium Park and the lake.

It's been a tradition for these lawyers to pose with Santa every year, but this year was their first year with green screen and onsite instant prints together. FAB helped the firm choose the right background photo to create the intimate holiday setting to bring their Santa tradition to life. Moments after posing with Santa, the they had their souvenir 4x6 photos in their hands.

We're happy to report that only a small handful of lawyers entered into arbitration with Santa over their naughty/nice status. Who says lawyers don't know how to have fun?

12/8/11 Burton Snowboards "GIRL'S NIGHT OUT"

Thursday, December 8, for the third year in a row, FAB PHOTO shot and printed green screen photos on site for Burton Snowboard's "GIRL'S NIGHT OUT" at their downtown Chicago flagship store on 56 E Walton Street.

The beats bumped, champagne flowed, and hors d'oeuvres were served on all three floors as the ladies (and a few beaus) posed for photographs with whatever Burton snowboard gear they picked out.

12/06/11, FAB PHOTO Repeats Green Screen Onsite Printing Trick for ITW National Sales Meeting in Appleton, WI

Tuesday, December 6, FAB PHOTO drove up to Appleton, Wisconsin to repeat our Green Screen Onsite Instant Print trick from FABTECH.

The location was downtown Radisson Hotel; the scene was a conference room turned Dave and Buster's arcade. After setting up in advance, we engaged in a few rounds of Deer Hunter before the ITW sales reps were let loose from their late afternoon lecture into the welcome relief of the gamed out conference room for beer, billiards, videogames, and plenty of hot buffet style food.

Of all the different ITW divisions, HOBART showed a lot of team pride and took many group pictures. Miller held strong and we witnessed repeat performers from FABTECH fight Dr. Evil or feel the Power of Blue another time.

11/08/11, Tuesday evening, WBEZ Hosts Open Studio to Introduce Guests to Radio Celebrities

Tuesday evening, November 8, 2011, WBEZ, Chicago Public Radio 91.5 FM, opened its studio doors to introduce many of its popular radio personalities to a select number of lucky guests. WBEZ gave FAB PHOTO a chance to flex its photojournalism chops on this rare behind the scenes look at WBEZ studios and its stars. (Can public radio have "stars"? FAB says yes—look, it's Chicago Public Radio!)

After a brief audience address by CEO of Chicago Public Media Torey Malatia, attendees rotated between their choice of studios in 3 consecutive one half hour sessions, with a closing audience Q & A session mediated by Mr. Malatea and Jerome McDonnell over a wonderful desert buffet.

Local radio celebrity appearances included "Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me!" host Peter Segal and supporting cast, "Worldview" Jerome McDonell, Sarah Jindra, Lisa Labuz, Tony Sarabia, amongst others.
